We’ve been busy making special Halloween treats for friends, using my newest Sizzix dies. Here are some highlights:
This spooky little house was made using the Country Cottage die from my new Christmas Collection for Sizzix. The die is incredibly versatile...you can completely change the look of it by using different papers, patterns, embellishments and colors. It is about 4" tall.
On this example, we used corrugated black cardstock for the roof, and scrapbook paper for the body of the house and the base. We also added some fringed tissue paper trim on the base, and black dresden trim on the chimney. The thin gauge black wire is perfect for suspending a collection of little houses from a tree or garland.
The door is black cardstock, loosely painted with a faux woodgrain pattern using white acrylic paint. The portico is trimmed with tiny branches, attached with hot glue.
Another one of my most versatile dies is the Shadow Box. Measuring about 3.5 x 3 x 1”, it’s just the perfect size to hold an assortment of sweet treats for any occasion. It’s really easy to assemble and fun to embellish. Medium to heavyweight scrapbook paper is recommended for this project.
You can embellish these boxes with medallions, stickers, ribbons and whatever you have on hand. What an adorable party favor or hostess gift!
My new Christmas collection of dies and Textured Impressions is now available online and at craft stores nationwide. Wishing you a very magical and happy Halloween!
